lean on me..

Have you ever had that person in your life that is there for you from day one, and no matter how much time passes, they're still as down for you as they were before? There's that unspoken bond, a bond that can't be put into words, but it's there, it just fits.

Shawn London, that's my person. Lol, she's by far one of the goofiest people I've ever known, and while we've never been SUPER close to the point of being inseparable, she still knows me inside and out, as do I her. My Junior year, we had child development together, and that was our "talk time". Advice was passed from me to her, and from her to me; we valued each other's opinions. She graduated that year, but when Senior year came around, I called her everyday to tell her everything; latest bullshit, to the latest jokes. I was dating Jovan from mid Junior year to early second semester Senior year, and couldn't nobody tell me that he wasn't the love of my life. Shawn hated him, along with my mother, both of them constantly telling me i could do better, and to drop the dead weight. When me and Jovan's relationship fell apart, me and Shawn's relationship faded too, why, I still haven't quite figured that out, but it happened.

We talk now, off and on, text messages here and there. Regardless of what time it is, or how long it's been since we've last spoken, she's there for me, and I'm there for her. From day one, when Whitney introduced us in passing, she's made it a point to extend her help hand if needed.

I can't say that I have too many people like her in my life, outside of family, and I value that. Like I said, there's just an unspoken bond; it can't be touched, bruised, or broken.

Shawn,
you have so many dreams and aspirations, don't ever let go of any of them, please. Make sure that girlfriend of yours takes care of you too, always, never forgetting how remarkable of a person you are. You love with your whole heart, and you care with all of your soul. More people should be like you, a lover of love; an appreciator of life. You've never not once been there for me, whether it dealt with matters of the heart, or just needing somebody to talk to, and for that I thank you. Other than my parents, you're one of the best people I know.♥

The good thing about music is

..when it hits you, it doesn't hurt.

1.Eyes on Fire- Blue Foundation
took me by surprise, i must say. hearing this song made me listen to more and more of their work, and while they aren't my favorite, they are different; different is always good.

2.I'm not Calling you a Liar- Florence and the Machine
baddd ass. I guess I should go ahead and mention 3,4, and 5, since they are all by Florence and the Machine as well.
   3.Heavy in your arms
   4.You've got the love
   5.Dog Days are Over
the more I hear, the harder I fall.

6.You Lost Me- Christina Aguilera
I've always been a Christina fan, but she sounds so mature on this song, which before her Bionic album, I wouldn't have imagined that her voice could've matured anymore, but once again, she seizes to amaze me.

7.Little Bit- Lykke Li
Drake did a bit of a remix to this; the beat is a little faster, and of course he changes some of the words, but the song itself is still good. I also like Tonight by Lykke Li, I first heard this song on My Life as Liz.

8.Machine Gun- Jimi Hendrix
  also there's number 9.
   9.All Along the Watchtower.
One of the greatest, that shall never be denied. I love my mother for introducing me to Mr.Hendrix, for I would be lost without his music.

10.The Beautiful Ones- Prince
  truly a fascinating man.

I'd just be rambling if I went on, so from here on out, I'll do a song of the day.

Sincerely,
Marilyn Ca$h
